Jane Murray-Watson and Louise Difford set up JL Associates in 2018 following the success of The Young Actors Agency.
Jane now heads up both agencies out of the Sussex and London offices and Louise remains as a silent partner.
With a combined 50 years of experience working in the entertainment industry, Jane and Louise wanted to use their innate and comprehensive understanding of the business; both how it works and the emotional strains it puts upon the individual to enable them to support each of their clients individually – as mentors as well as agents.
Jane Murray-Watson worked as an actress (under a different name) from the age of 12, later training at Arts Educational Schools and appearing in numerous theatre, television, film and commercial productions. She founded theatre company, Mokita Productions in 2007, subsequently merging with Grit Productions to become MokitaGrit, and produced seventeen theatre productions in London, Brighton, Oxford and Edinburgh. The Young Actors Group and Agency were founded by Jane and her husband, Ben Murray-Watson in 2014. Jane and Ben have three children together.
Louise Difford trained as a stage manager at Rose Bruford College, graduating in 1993. She worked at various theatres, including in-house at Richmond Theatre. After a few years she moved into television to work firstly as a scenic operative for the BBC and then on a variety of programmes, including documentaries, music and kids shows for ITV, Channel 4 and A&E America as a production coordinator. After a career break to raise her three children she worked for International theatre consultants, Charcoalblue looking after their marketing and media, before joining Jane at The Young Actors Agency in 2017 and going on to co-create JL Associates.
